Revision Rhinoplasty

Overview

Revision rhinoplasty corrects problems left by a previous operation: a shape you are unhappy with, an irregularity that appeared as swelling settled, or breathing that got worse. It is more complex than a first operation because scar tissue and missing cartilage have to be worked around.

Revision Rhinoplasty
Our approach to care

We review your previous operation notes where available, photograph the nose and examine inside with an endoscope to see what structure remains.

Revision usually uses an open approach. Cartilage from the septum, ear or rib may be needed to rebuild support.

Revision noses swell for longer. Follow-up runs over a full year, with gentle taping or, occasionally, a small steroid injection to settle stubborn swelling.

Your first visit takes about 45 minutes: a conversation about what bothers you, an examination of the nose inside and out with a small endoscope, and standardised photographs. You leave with a clear explanation of what surgery can and cannot change, and time to decide.
