What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your device on a later visit. Some are set by us, some by services we use. This policy explains which ones King's College Hospital London - Jeddah sets, what each group does, and how you control them.

Asking before we set them

We do not set any cookie outside the strictly necessary group until you tell us we may. On your first visit you can accept all, reject all, or open the settings and decide category by category. Rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting, and nothing is loaded while you decide. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal we treat that as a refusal and do not ask.

The four groups we use

Every cookie on this site belongs to one of these groups. Only the first is exempt from consent.

• Strictly necessary: signing in, keeping your session secure, remembering your cookie choice itself, and keeping the site available. These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work without them.
• Analytics: how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they leave, so we can improve those pages. Aggregated, and never used to identify you.
• Functional: remembers your language and the preferences you set, so you do not set them again on every visit.
• Targeting: measures how our campaigns perform and lets us show more relevant content through partner channels.

Analytics and advertising services

We use Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics. None of it loads until you grant the analytics category, and granting it later starts measurement without a page reload. We do not run the Meta Pixel or any other advertising tracker on this site. If that changes, this page changes first.

Changing your mind

Select Manage cookies at the bottom of any page. Your current choice is shown, and you can change any category and save. Withdrawing is as easy as granting, which is what the Personal Data Protection Law requires. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though the site may then ask for your choice again.
