Mrs. Claire Smith

Chief Executive Officer

Claire Smith was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of King’s College Hospital London – Jeddah making her the first female British CEO in Saudi Arabia. With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, Claire brings a wealth of knowledge demonstrating her commitment to both clinical excellence and effective leadership.

Claire has a proven track record of partnering with leading UK Academic teaching hospitals to deliver healthcare across the UK, excelling in strategic implementation, clinical operations, quality, and patient experience. Claire gained her experiences working clinically in the NHS before moving to private healthcare in the UK, culminating in serving as the CEO for HCA Healthcare’s Joint Ventures for 10 years, bringing together the best of public and private healthcare in the UK to the benefit of patients and their families.

Being a passionate and engaging leader, whose journey started as a nurse, Claire’s commitment to advancing healthcare goes beyond clinical practise. She has played a pivotal role in shaping Sarah Cannon Research Institute UK, phase 1 clinical trials unit in London. Claire holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from King’s College University

Emad is the Chief Medical Officer of King’s College Hospital London – Jeddah. Emad is a well-known Consultant Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Gynaecology Oncology with 20 years’ experience in governmental and private hospitals as a clinician and healthcare leader.

Emad started his career at Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh then Makkah and held multiple positions including Director of Academic Affairs and Hospital Director for Executive Affairs. After his early retirement, he joined International Medical Centre, Jeddah as Chairman of Women’s Health Centre, Chief Medical Officer, and Managing Director of Women and Children Hospital project.

He received his education at King Saud University, McGill University and University of Montreal. Where he Obtained his Canadian Board and American Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Canadian Board in Gynaecology Oncology. Emad is also a military veteran holding the rank of Colonel.

Patti is the Chief Nursing officer for King’s College Hospital London in Jeddah  and has held a number of senior nursing & midwifery roles in the last 25 years both in the UK and Saudi Arabia.  Patti was previously the Executive Associate Chief Nurse at King Saud Medical City in Riyadh.
Patti has a Bachelors degree in Nursing and an MSc in Reproduction & Health from the UK and is registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council in the UK and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Patti is very excited to be recruiting and leading the Nursing team through the commissioning of King’s College Hospital London in Jeddah, helping bring the very best of British Healthcare to Saudi Arabia.

Samer is the Chief Operating Officer of King’s College London in Jeddah.  Samer has over 23 years’ experience in multiple areas of healthcare administration, including operations, commissioning, patient experience, hospitality, and facility management.  Samer is credited with with transforming the patient experience and infusing a “Patient-Centric” mindset across the entire organization, injecting passion for service excellence. He is also leading the healthcare council at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.  Samer graduated with master’s degree in BA from Northeastern University – Boston on a Fulbright scholarship and trained in hospital management and operations at Cleveland Clinic.

Nikesh is the Chief Financial Officer for King’s College Hospital London – Jeddah and is responsible for all financial related items within the Hospital including Procurement, IT, RCM and Finance.

Nikesh comes with over 30 years’ experience gained in a number of organisations including the Hilton Hotel Group, BP Plc and Qatar Foundation. Since 2016, Nikesh has gained experience in private healthcare having worked at HCA Healthcare UK both at The Wellington Hospital as the Chief Financial Officer and also at the Corporate Office as the Vice President of the International Service Group, driving the growth of the international market for the Group. More recently, Nikesh has been the Chief Financial Officer for a Hospital in Qatar and then as Group Chief Financial Officer of a Hospital Group in Kuwait.

Nikesh is a qualified accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has also attended leadership programmes at the London Business School and in 2018, won the top award for the HCA Harvard Executive Leadership programme.
