Questions before you book.

  • Average-risk women are offered mammography from age 40. Earlier screening is offered when family history or pathology indicates higher risk.

  • No. Most lumps are benign, fibroadenomas or cysts. We confirm with imaging and, if needed, a needle biopsy in the same visit.

  • Many cancers are treated with breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy). When mastectomy is needed, immediate reconstruction is offered.

  • Yes. A female chaperone is offered for every examination, and family members are welcome in consultations.

  • Yes. Genetic counselling and BRCA testing are available through our high-risk clinic when indicated by family or personal history.

  • Where oncologically safe, we offer immediate reconstruction at the time of mastectomy, planned jointly with our plastic surgery team.
