Biography.

Dr. N. Basendowah is a dedicated and accomplished Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with over nine years of experience in thoracic surgery and eleven years in general surgery. Her career reflects a strong commitment to patient-centered care, surgical excellence, and continuous professional development across diverse healthcare systems.

She recently completed a volunteer assignment at MOH Hospital in Jeddah, where she provided advanced thoracic surgical care and contributed to the training and mentorship of junior surgeons.

Dr. Basendowah completed a highly regarded Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea (2021–2023), where she received subspecialized training in thoracic oncology surgery and minimally invasive thoracic and upper gastrointestinal surgery. Her international experience also includes a clinical attachment in thoracic surgery at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada.

Earlier in her career, she held senior clinical roles in general surgery with a thoracic focus at leading institutions such as King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH) and KAMC–National Guard Health Affairs (NGHA) Jeddah. She has served as a Consultant in General Surgery since 2016, following her completion of the General Surgery Residency Program at KAMC-NGH in Jeddah. Dr. Basendowah is respected for her thoughtful clinical judgment, technical skill, and collaborative approach to care. She continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of thoracic surgery through clinical service, education, and volunteer work.
